But for the results show the following night she chose an supremely elegant look in a dazzling beaded floor length dress. Yet again the superstar judge stole the show and seems invincible in the fashion stakes during this series of X Factor.
The former Pussycat Doll left her long straight hair sleek and sophisticated to enhance the grown up chic look. Nicole's stunning black beaded dress with nude underlay was by Lebanese fashion designer Aiisha Ramadan and her shoes (hidden under the dress were by Ursula Mascaro.
Nicole's two acts - Hannah Barrett and Tamera Foster - are still in the competition and are through to the seventh week after Sam Callahan was voted off on Sunday's show.
Sam Callahan left it to his sing off with Luke Friend on Sunday night to give what the judges called his 'best performance ever'. Nicole, who was wearing red lipstick and what looked like fake eye lashes, even threw her pen at the young star and said: 'I'm so angry with you Sam!' and Gary Barlow told him: 'Good job'.
Sam took on 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls in the sing-off, while Luke performed U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'.
Nicole Scherzinger responded passionately to Sam's heart felt performance saying: 'That was the best performance ever done. 'I'm so angry with you Sam! I knew you had it in you. You bared your heart and you waited until now to connect with us?!' Before she opted to send home Callahan ahead of Friend.
